As well as the research project that I'm doing, I'll be helping my mentor figure out wether or not they should purchase an industrial shredder. They have storage spaces filled with confidential files that now need to be shredded. They have been paying a company by the box to shred their papers, but it's getting expensive. After how many boxes would the expensive shredder be worth it? I'll be creating linear equations to represent both the flat rate of the shredder, and the rate of the shredding company, and putting them in a graph on Microsoft Excel. I'll be using a lot of the stuff that I learned in math this year and last year. So this is definitely something that incorporates some academic skills that I've learned.
So far the past few days have consisted of research, research, and more research. I found a couple interesting articles on loss of consortium, wrongful death, and loss of enjoyment. I'm hoping everyone will be impressed with my work so far, because it has been really difficult.
